When Dr. Tovar was 9 years old, her sister was born autistic and with a severe brain paralysis. This encouraged her to think of health conditions at a very early age and what to do in order for wellness to prevail. It helped her value life and human relationships, to listen and understand the silent signals of human necessities, and to understand a person’s fear of the unknown. She received very precise lessons on how, using physical manipulations, adjustments and massages applied to her sister, which helped to improve her physical condition. One of the early accomplishments was helping her sister learn to walk when she was 3 years old. Homeopathic treatments helped her to overcome multiple convulsive crises, giving Dr. Tovar the opportunity to witness the effectiveness of another kind of medicine.

After several years, these experiences reaffirmed Dr. Tovar’s decision to pursue medicine.

In 1990, she worked as an assistant in an Integrative Medicine Institution, Athanor, in Chacao Caracas where Acupuncture, Homeopathy, Chiropractic, Colonics, Neural Therapy, Chelation’s and Ozone therapy were the common practice. One of her functions was to prepare homeopathic formulas, giving her the opportunity to learn all these modalities and being exposed to other Doctor/Patient relationship focuses. This experience, compounded with her knowledge using homeopathic treatments, motivated her to pursue her Medical degree.

Dr. Tovar started studies in UCV (Universidad Central de Venezuela) where she had the opportunity to practice The Alma Ata Declaration (WHO) based in preventive programs consisting in anthropometric measurements in children 0-3 and scholar age, community treatments and education in topics like Diarrhea, Oral dehydration, malnutrition, vaccine programs, and respiratory illness. Also The Graffar Method was used allowing the social and economic classification to offer the necessary services based on communities requirements. She transferred to Carabobo’s University in Venezuela and got her Medical Doctor Degree in 2000. Meanwhile, she was training in Martial Arts (Ninjutsu) as a member of the Bujinkan 1997-2000, was certified in Chiro-massage by Shihan Liberto Gala. She also achieved the Professional Breathing Work Therapy Certification by Rebirthing Center of Venezuela. During the next three years she did her medical residency at Palo Negro’s Hospital in Venezuela and at the NPA (Nucleus of Primary Attention), planning and organizing communities for treating Dengue, Paludismo, Hansen disease, respiratory diseases (Tuberculosis, Pneumonia, Asthma etc.) pregnancy control, detected risk factors and implemented control plans, she achieved the certification to promote natural child birth as Palo Negro’s Hospital was the first to have natural birth facilities in Venezuela.

In 2003 she relocated to the United States to enhance her English  language abilities and expand her medical knowledge. Dr. Tovar was interested in medical aesthetics and in 2006 she achieved a Paramedical Skin Care Associate Degree from Florida College of Natural Health; giving her a different healing perspective. Previously she thought the human change process only applied from the soul to the physical plane but she realized the human being is so complex and dynamic that we heal in different ways and we can do it from the outside to the inside too, manifesting extraordinary miracles depending on the necessities.
In 2004 she received the certification on Bach flower therapy and on her never ending quest for knowledge she continued her studies at Florida College of Integrative Medicine and graduated in 2011 with a Degree of Doctor in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Acupuncture. This Millenarian medicine helped her to incorporate another way of thinking, a system based on questionnaires, observation and palpation with totally different protocols. Dr. Tovar learned from her first Master that sometimes just looking and being in the presence of the patient is enough to heal. She was certified in Body Talk and Bars – Level I and II by Dr. Akia Azula. She is convinced that the human being is integrated and that any modification in one area affects the rest. This belief system fits perfectly into the psychoneuro-endocrinoimmunology concept or “Functional Medicine”. Her studies and experiences gives her a commonality between practices, keeping her in love and passionate about this occupation’s mission; which she has been entrusted with as her way to give back to her family, friends and patients.
